Wahnsinn! Die Reitwagen Jungs werden BMW Satellitenteam!

Via Josch und wieder via Asphalt and Rubber:

And now according to Swiss publication Speedweek helping BMW make a bigger push into WSBK is the news that German team Reitwagen Racing will run a S1000RR as WSBK satellite team.

Speedweek goes on to say that Austrian Roland Resch will ride one of the team’s S1000RR, as further rumors peg the team as possibly fielding a second satellite S1000RR as well. Reitwagon’s manager, Andy Werth, is clear that his team is not a factory effort, “We are a satellite team, which will receive support from the factory in specific areas.”

Testing ing ing ing

A test for some of the top teams in WSB racing got underway on Wednesday at Valencia, and was blessed by warm temperatures and dry track surfaces.

Top of the list was Leon Haslam, taking his Suzuki Alstare machine to a 1'34.5 second lap. Next fastest proved to be Max Biaggi (Aprilia Racing) then double World Superbike Champion of yesteryear, James Toseland (Yamaha Sterilgarda). Toseland, like fourth fastest man Jonathan Rea (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda) fell today, but was unhurt.

WSS Champion Cal Crutchlow, sporting a new helmet design with championship cycling multi-coloured stripes, was just into the 1'35s, Leon Camier (Aprilia), on a 1'35.8, tied on times with new Honda signing Max Neukirchner, while Sylvain Guintoli (Alstare Suzuki) set a best of 1'36.1.

In WSS, Hannspree Ten Kate Honda riders, Kenan Sofuoglu and Michele Pirro set a 1'36.8 and 1'37.1 respectively.

One more day of testing remains at the 4.005km circuit in Valencia.

Pos Rider Bike Time

1 Leon Haslam Suzuki 1'34.5

2 Max Biaggi Aprilia 1'34.7

3 James Toseland Yamaha 1'34.8

4 Johnny Rea Honda 1'34.9

5 Cal Crutchlow Yamaha 1'35.1

6 Max Neukirchner Honda 1'35.8

http://www.motomatters.com/news/2009/11/16/wsbk_guandalini_to_switch_to_aprilia.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+MotoGPMatters+%28MotoMatters%29&utm_content=Twitter

o_O

was heisst das?

Mladin is a fanatical twitterer and tweeted yesterday: "a couple of world superbike offers have come my way in the past month. 1 of them very good in regards to machinery. decisions decisions ;-)."

WSBK: STIGGY RACING FORCED TO QUIT RACING FOR 2010 SEASON

WSBK: STIGGY RACING FORCED TO QUIT RACING FOR 2010 SEASON

POSTED: 14 DEC 2009 | STORY: ALEX GOBERT | SECTION: BREAKING NEWS | COMMENTS: 0 | SHARETHIS

Stiggy Racing won't be on the grid in 2010.

The Stiggy Racing Honda team has been forced to withdraw from the Superbike and Supersport World Championships in 2010, quitting the sport due to the Global Economic Crisis after a successful five years of operation - five in WSS and one also in WSBK.

The decision has been made after an evaluation of the teams poor economical situation which was created during this year’s expanded venture by participating in both championship classes, which was a huge financial project that was poorly executed by the teams investors as a result of failure to it’s financial commitments of the 2009 season according to Stiggy.

The Stiggy Racing Honda team has shown great potential since starting up in 2005 in the WSS class, slowly building it’s ground in the championship and year by year advancing to finally set a solid mark as a top contender in the championship. The team managed its best result in 2008 by finishing third in the SSP championship with Australian rider Joshua Brookes.

Being a private team in a championship like Superbike, consisting of seven factory teams means not only stiff competition on track but also means a beforehand financial weakness, making it very difficult to survive without a solid financial backup and support from it’s surroundings. Despite financial disadvantages the team was able to achieve solid results in its WSBK rookie year.

Debuting the season with a third place podium finish, repeating another three podiums places during the season including 11 top five finishes, Leon Halsam finished the title as best privateer rider after taking a sixth place in the championship. The team ended its year as the fifth best ranked team in both SSP and SBK classes 2009.

Pitt returns to WSBK on a BMW

Andrew Pitt and Roland Resch form the rider line-up for Reitwagen BMW's first season in the World Superbike Championship

Andrew Pitt has confirmed he will return to the World Superbike stage for the first time in four years after agreeing to ride for the new Reitwagen BMW team.

The two-time World Supersport Champion and former World Superbike race winner will ride a BMW S1000RR alongside the already-confirmed Roland Resch in 2010 following an announcement that also saw Johan Stigefelt revealed as technical manager.

Pitt has not raced in the World Superbike Championship since the end of the 2006 season, when he was dropped by the factory Yamaha team.

Following a brief appearance with Ilmor in MotoGP, Pitt stepped back to World Supersports in 2008, where he duly secured a second title for Ten Kate Honda. However, after struggling to defend his crown this season, Pitt subsequently lost his spot in the team to Michele Pirro.

Nonetheless, Pitt has found his way back to World Superbikes with Reitwagen Motorsport, who will become the first satellite team to prepare BMWs in 2010.

In addition to signing Pitt, Reitwagen Motorsport also revealed Stigefelt as its new technical manager. Coming in the same week it was confirmed that his own project, Stiggy Racing, has been forced to dismantle, he will be joined by other key members of the Stiggy team for 2010, while fellow former racer Peter Goddard takes on chassis engineer duties.

Pitt's last season in World Superbikes yielded his first and only race win at Misano, while five further podiums saw him end the season fifth overall. Resch, meanwhile, failed to score any points in his maiden season of WSBK racing this year.

http://www.motoonline.com.au/2010/01/02/wsbk-roger-lee-hayden-joins-pedercini-kawasaki-for-2010/

roger-hayden.jpg

Roger Hayden is WSBK-bound in 2010 with Pedercini Racing.

American Roger Lee Hayden will join the Pedercini Racing team to contest the 2010 Superbike World Championship this season, joining former MotoGP World Champion brother Nicky on the world stage after a solid career in the AMA.

The 26-year-old from Owensboro, Kentucky, has spent much of his career on Kawasaki machinery and in 2009 he participated in the Daytona Sportbike Championship on the Monster Energy Attack Kawasaki team on a factory-supported ZX-6R.

Hayden won the AMA Supersport championship in 2007, winning 13 races in his Supersport career before contesting the AMA Superbike Championship with the factory Kawasaki team.

“I am really happy to be participating in the World Superbike Championship next year with the Pedercini team,” Hayden said. “It has always been my goal to race in a world championship series and now I have the opportunity. It’s a big difference from what I did last year, but I’m ready and looking forward to taking that next step.

“I have experience on the Kawasaki Superbike, so that does not make everything completely new. It will be fun learning and racing at the new circuits and of course we have a home round in Salt Lake at Miller Motorsports Park. My first test will be at Portimao towards end of January and I can’t wait to get back on a bike again!”

Team boss Lucio Pedercini was also pleased with the signing of the youngest Hayden brother, the former racer still looking to add a second rider to his team for this year.

“We’re very happy with our signing of Roger. He is a young rider and we hope to realize his full potential and guide him through his debut in Superbike World Championship as we strongly believe that Hayden will put us in a good position to compete in the next Superbike World Championship,” Pedercini said. “He has been competitive on Kawasaki machinery in the USA, he knows the Kawasaki ZX-10R and we want to continue developing his career within Kawasaki. We understand that Roger may need some time to adapt himself to our team, the new circuits and to such a difficult and competitive championship as the world Superbike, but we are sure about his talent, motivation and determination.”

das stimmt allerdings !

Mladin.

"I'm also weird. Go Ted. http://bit.ly/CMXCK"

- 13. Juni 2010...
